Thompson-Neely House (Giclée Print)

Known as the "House of Decision", because it was here that General Washington and his staff planned the historic successful surprise attack on Hessian troops at Trenton, NJ, Christmas night 1776. The center part of the house was built in 1702; the western addition was put on by Robert Thompson in 1757 as well as the 2nd floor over the original one room structure. The last expansion was to add the eastern section in 1788.

Clark Barn (Giclée Print)

The Clark Nature Center consists of a property that was donated to Newtown Township, Bucks County, PA by the Clark family who owned the farm for generations. The property has a farmhouse, barn and a storage building and has a nature trail that meanders through 50 wooded acres.

Assateague Lighthouse (Giclée Print)

The Assateague Lighthouse is located on the Virginia portion of Assateague. It is approximately 1/4 mile away from Chincoteague Island. It was built in the mid 1800's and has twin rotating lights that flash one after another from a height of 154 feet above sea level. The lights can be seen from 20 miles out at sea. The lighthouse is 142 feet high with a base of 27 feet in diameter and is maintained by the U. S. Coast Guard. It has the distinction of having been placed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Dickey Farm (Limited Edition Giclée Print)

The stone farmhouse was built around 1800. The earliest known owner was John Blaker. The Blakers owned several farms in the area totaling 1000 acres. The farm was resold several times and eventually bought by David Dickey in 1914. Five years later Dickey sold it to George Tyler and it became part of the Tyler estate and consequently part of Tyler State Park. In 1978 the Dickey farmhouse was torn down.

Boxwood Farm (Giclée Print)

AKA The John Palmer home as the name Boxwood Farm was coined by him because of a row of boxwoods promintly displayed in front of the house. The house was built by Palmer's father, William in the early 1800's. William's gr-grandfather acquired the property around 1714.

Autumn At Lake Afton

Originally known as the Yardleyville Library, the building was constructed in 1878, at Lake Afton, Yardley, PA. The building's style, known as carpenter Gothic, features a steep gable roof, decorative slate work, and pointed arched windows.

Jefferson Avenue School

The Jefferson Avenue school opened in 1909. It consisted of two floors and eight classrooms and an auditorium. Most rooms had 48 desks and the school featured a "hygienic" drinking fountain. An iron fence separated the boys and girls playground. The school was closed in the mid-60's as a newer school expanded and absorbed the Jefferson students.

Wycombe Twilight

The Wycombe train station was built in 1891 and was opened on September 15th. It originally served the route to Philadelphia carrying livestock, grain and passengers. The village at that time was known as Walton; it was changed to Wycombe in 1896. Passenger service to Philadelphia ended in 1952.

Moland House (Limited Edition Giclée Print)

The Moland House in Warwick Township, where Gen George Washington and his troops of 11,000 encamped from Aug 10 to Aug 23, 1777, is notably one of the most historic structures in Bucks County. It was here that the Marquis de Lafayette, a French envoy, joined the Revolutionary Army.

Old Church of St Andrew

In 1870, on land donated by two local contractors, the congregation and the community started construction of the church. The cornerstone was laid on Nov 16, 1873, which was close to the date of the feast day of St Andrew, so it decided that Saint Andrew be chosen as the patron saint of the parish and the church named after him. The church was completed and dedicated on Sunday, June 13th, 1880.

Creekside Farm

This farm located along Newtown Creek was originally called “Forest Farm” according to tax records of 1832. The barn was built in 1868 by Amos Wilkinson. The farm was sold to Mahlon Wright in 1869, who owned the property till 1904. Several other persons owned the farm in the ensuing years until 1949 when it was bought by Dr John Pierce, who named it “Creekside Farm”.

Ferry Inn

Built in 1752, the original part of this structure was used as part of a ferry operation. It was purchased by Samuel McConkey in 1776, and the business became known as McConkey’s Ferry and McConkey’s Ferry Inn. That year General Washington made his final plans and had Christmas dinner at the inn prior to the attack on Trenton. Washington used the inn after the battle to house Hessian officers captured at Trenton. The inn also served as a guard post for the Continental Army during their Bucks County encampment in December 1776.

Spring Garden Mill

Spring Garden Mill was constructed on a 5 acre parcel along the banks of the Neshaminy Creek in 1819 just south of what is now Newtown - Richboro Road. A fire in 1867 destroyed most of the interior of the mill, but was rebuilt ten years later. It was also in this time that the stone walls were coated with stucco, giving it the appearance it has today. Around 1920 George Tyler purchased the mill and several farms in the area, all of which subsequently became part of Tyler State Park.

Washington Crossing Inn

The Washington Crossing Inn, AKA the Bernard Taylor House, dates to 1817. Bernard Taylor, a farmer, and two brothers ran the ferry (then called Taylor’s Ferry) across the Delaware River to New Jersey. The brothers also operated a fishery and were instrumental in establishing the small community at the edge of the Delaware River which became known as Taylorsville. The Taylor home was converted to an inn during the 1930’s.
