The Dickey Farm was located in Northampton, Bucks County in an area that would one day become Tyler State Park. The farmhouse was thought to have been built in the early 1800s. The earliest known owner of the farm was John Blaker, who willed it to his heirs in 1868. The Blaker family owned about 1000 acres in the area. The farm was resold several times and eventually purchased by David Dickey in 1914. Five years later Dickey sold it to George Tyler and it became part of the Tyler estate and consequently part of Tyler State Park when the park opened in 1974. |

Mail Pouch chewing tobacco was produce by the Bloch Brothers Tobacco Company of Wheeling West Virginia. In 1890 the company started an outdoor advertising campaign. Farmers who allowed their barns to used as billboards were compensated in various ways-some received cash, some received periodic repainting and others accepted free supplies of Mail Pouch tobacco. The painting of slogans and such on barns ceased in the 1960s due to the newly introduced Highway Beautification Act.
